Today we learned about what 'being digital' feels like for the learner. We explored Chromebook shortcuts and Explain Everything. It was good to be able to have a play with these in order to learn a few more tricks. Below is an Explain Everything that I created as well as a slide deck of Chromebook shortcuts that I will use during my cyber smart lessons. They will be good to display on the wall also.

Week 6 - DFI

LEARNING SITES

It was great to have some time today to improve our blogs as well as look at other people's blogs. I have improved my blog by adding values, singing, mindfulness and Māori buttons (pictured below), all linking to learning slides we already had, apart from values which is 'coming soon'. I plan for students to video themselves showing who they display our school values during the day.

I really like this home page set up from Pt England School. I will keep it in the back of my mind for 2021- gives the students more ownership.

Week 5 DFI

Our focus today was VISIBLE LEARNING

This simply means can you see it or can you not? @school and @home

WHY have visible learning?

  • Encourages the partnership with the school & home

  • Helps teachers to see what the child is doing

  • Visibility of what other teachers are doing (blogs, planning etc)

Today we used this resource to create a google site. Here is my creation.

Something I need to do is follow this week's Harpara hot tip:

Sharing tab- Used for locating missing files and documents - Go to unshared and see what hasn’t been put in a shared folder.
